Federal Communications Diversity Czar

Mark Lloyd, what a piece of socialist shit.
I'm sorry but to think we can have a free society and have someone like Mr. Lloyd laying the groundwork for our communications is ridiculous. Mr. Lloyd praised Hugo Chavez during a June 2008 conference on media reform.

And then said in a formal statement provided to the Washington Times through the FCC that his comment was being misinterpreted.

"The point I was trying to make was that there was dramatic social change in places like Rwanda and Venezuela and that media played an important part in that. I am not a Chavez supporter. I do not support any political leader other than the president of the United States. I do believe all Americans would benefit from more opportunities to participate in media and that the answer to ugly speech is not censorship, but more speech."

If Mr. Lloyd does support only the President of the United States then what exactly does our President support to appoint Mr. Lloyd to the position of Diversity Czar in the FCC? I think we should be looking at the people President Obama surrounds himself with...wait isn't that how HE said we should judge him?

Mr. Lloyd also said at another conference, that we need to remove white people from powerful positions in the media to give minorities a fairer chance.

I think minorities need a fair chance but this is a blatantly racist remark. If minorities deserve a fair chance then they need to work for that fair chance. Our society stands on the non discrimination laws we have created and I for one have not seen any discriminatory hiring practices in my place of work except when there was a minority in charge of hiring and that person hired no one except minorities.

Now as far as the radio is concerned, if we allow people like Mark Lloyd to control who gets licensed and who doesn't then the free market is dead. Conservative talk radio was born on two things...the voice of conservatism and advertising. They are saying what conservatives want to hear and conservatives are buying what they are selling through the advertising. Liberal talk radio fails for the inverse reasons.
