Stupid bird tricks…

Scarlet O'Hare is back…well not really. Christmas eve my son got his bird. He wanted an African Gray for Christmas and Santa was good to him. He lost Gary about 6 weeks before Christmas and was devastated by it. So this is his new bird, Scarlet.

Only 4 hours and she seems to love him as much as Gary did…sits on his lap while he plays his games…lets him take pictures of her without flinching and only bites him once in a while…J

Open letter to Senator Reid

Senator Reid,

I see that you are proud of your healthcare bill you are pushing through the Senate before Christmas. Sir I believe you are ether a simple minded fool or your are corrupt beyond my wildest imagination. This kind of legislation does nothing more for helping health care in the nation than unions do for workers in the modern day.

Please give everyone an early Christmas gift and postpone the vote until after the holidays, this headlong rush into socialism is foolhardy and dangerous for our country.

Senator Reid, I call you Senator because that is the position you hold, not because I believe you deserve any respect for holding it, when you respond to me please use Mr. Petty as I'm damn sure I deserve what little respect that offers.

Mr. Petty

Sleeping with the dogs or no rest on vacation

My ex and kids went to Wyoming to visit grandparents and do a little snowboarding. I sure hope they had fun. I can't wait until they get home. I miss the kids and believe it or not I miss the ex. My ex wife has spoiled our family dogs to the point of me not being able to sleep while they are gone…

They left on Thursday evening, when I got home from the airport the remaining dogs we have at the house greeted me like I was their long lost brother. It's a wonderful thing to have an animal love you like that, and we have four today. I said today because my ex rescues miniature pinchers and from one day to the next you never know how many we may have. Anyway we have four while they are gone. Two dogs sleep in crates under blankets. They have no problem at all going to bed, as a matter of fact if I stay up later than they want to they will go snuggle up under their blanket and go to sleep without me tucking them in at all. I just have to remember to lock the crate otherwise they will get up in the middle of the night and go to the bathroom, or kitchen or living room…wherever they decide they want to pee.

It's the other two that inspired the title, they don't have any trouble going out in the middle of the night if they want to pee…good thing…they don't have a problem going to bed when its time. The problem is where they go to bed. Now my ex didn't want to sleep with me because I snored (her words, not mine) and I agree they dogs don't' snore but I'm not sure how she could get any more rest with what they do (maybe snoring wasn't the real reason…;-). They are min-pins if I didn't mention that before and they are short haired which means they are cold by nature, they want to be under the blanket and because they love attention they want to be under MY blanket. And at first I thought it was that they wanted it all, it isn't so. I have a California King and they are min-pins after all (hell both of them could curl up on my laptop). They want to be where I am, curled up against my butt or legs.

Good thing its winter, otherwise I'd be sleeping naked…even wearing PJ's by the time morning rolls around, my sleeping area consists of about two or three inches on the edge of my California King. Hence its 4 am and I'm writing a blog entry. These little shits are hot, they slide up against me and I slide away. The only place left to go is the floor so I wind up getting the laptop out and letting them snuggle and sleep while I write. Now my bed smells like dog, my PJ's smell like dog and now I know why the first thing in the morning my ex has to take a shower, cause I smell like dog.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when I get up in the morning the first thing Misty does is rub her sent onto my pillow, real refreshing when I come back to bed tonight…shit.

Just another reason to keep governments out of the climate change science

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2009/dec/08/copenhagen-climate-summit-disarray-danish-text

Takes you to a report of how the big powerful governments of the world continue to use the science to figure out ways to control the world populations.
At some point in this climate change debacle we will be taxed to the point of the times of Robin Hood where someone will have to stand up to the oppressive governments. If this kind of things happen it will cost millions, possibly even billions…not dollars but lives.

We of course would be better off if we stopped the governments of the world now by vote as opposed to guns. If we don't then I'm afraid that my kids or their kids will have to use the gun option.

A letter to the President

Mr. President,

I am deeply saddened that you are going to Copenhagen in light of the recent email scandal about global warming. You are trying to get health care reform passed in this country that will cripple our economy, you are trying to get cap and trade passed that will take the other leg from under us and now to try and get a treaty signed in Copenhagen and ratified here which will put us to a great extent under UN control.

Mr. President we are trillions (yes that is plural) of dollars in debt and you and the congress still have our check book, we want it back.

Seals vs. US Navy (Ahmed Hashim Abed)

I do understand you have not personally brought charges against our Navy Seals for the so called brutality against Ahmed Hashim Abed but I do implore you to make sure the Navy understands the consequences of their actions in pursuing this Courts-martial. While there may have been a minor infraction of the UCMJ, this kind of publically available proceeding is counterproductive to the good of the country as a whole. Secretary Napolitano of homeland security has already proclaimed me (an armed, self proclaimed conservative) as a possible domestic terrorist, but what the Navy is doing by putting these three Seals on trial, is pushing ex-military further toward the line of no confidence in the government.

Does the Navy think that by punishing these Seals for this, it will endear other citizens to want to join this organization? I can't imagine that being the case. You train these people to be the best of the best at fighting and surviving and now you consider the criminal in this case as the victim. Though you are military and have heard it all before, I will refrain from getting vulgar here and just say this case should be dismissed for lack of evidence, or as in a case where trying to sue the government, a citizen of this country was found to have 'NO STANDING' to sue (over taxes). If a citizen of this country has 'NO STANDING' to sue the government, why in the world would the Navy find Ahmed Hashim Abed to have standing to bring charges against the Navy Seals…even if the Navy is the plaintiff, charging the Seals, it still stems from someone with NO STANDING in the American system.

To me, depending on a statement from Ahmed Hashim Abed, the Navy has based its case on the Fruit of the poisonous tree. Abed has no legal standing therefore there is no basis to bring into question the actions of the Seals.

Off to Copenhagen

Well our President is off to Copenhagen to promise our futures to the global community… Let's get real about global warming here. It just isn't happening like the big brains said it would. The sad part of that is that they knew it wouldn't happen the way they were telling it, even when they were telling it…

Spent the afternoon with the bird tree again

I put the base on the tree for the Christmas Parrot and my ex and my son fought with it until we wrestled into his room. Below you can see the semi finished product.

My ex will wrap some rope around the trunk so the Parrot can climb it, we have already drilled holes in it so we can hid goodies for the bird to dig out…we hope this will make her want to hang close to her tree. We have ordered natural light lights for the lamp, apparently birds need sunlight just like the rest of us. Heck I'm almost as excited to get this bird as he is…

Christmas continiued

A picture of his new bird...well again not 'the' bird but this is the new one coming home for Christmas.

They say these birds are the best talkers of the bunch and I'm sure hoping so...I'm going to wait until after my son goes back to school then I'm going to teach the bird to say 'Welcome home asshole'. I know it's something I'll live to regret but I've lived with regrets for years and this is only a little one. Besides how funny would it be for my son to come home from school and open the door to his room and the parrot say 'Welcome home asshole'.

Ok, I may not really do it but it would be funny. The worst thing that could happen though is completely different.

My ex-wife rescues miniature pinchers and currently has one she is looking for a home for. While I don't have too much trouble with that, this little dog barks at everything and has the most irritating bark I've ever heard, it may be because I've heard it so damn much but...I sure as hell don't want an African Gray Parrot 'barking' too...

prp

Christmas is on its way

As bad as it is, my son lost his beloved cockatiel, Gary, the other day.  Its always really hard to figure out just what impact that will have on a person but after the fact I found out just what the bird meant to him.  Gary really was a good bird, and loved my son as much as my son loved him.

This really wasn't a picture of Gary but it is almost an exact likeness.

Checking my thoughts

I wrote and sent the following email in September, I re-read it and thought about what it said, I feel the same way now that I did then, though in some spots there is still a little glimmer of hope.

Careful Blog postings…

I try to be careful with almost everything I do, and while I'm not completely successful, I have managed to stay alive for the better part of a half century. I started a posting about my daughters driving skills, it's still sitting there started and I'm thinking it's better left that way…started.

The Time is Right

Oprah is shutting down her show…reported on the 20th I think (I don't watch her show so don't know for sure). Anyway she says she just knows in her bones, and in her soul that it's the right time. Well maybe there are other reasons…

Has E-mail lost its sting?

I got a list of Senator's names, addresses, and represented states last night with every intention of using them to voice my opinion to every Senator in our country and I'm still going to do that however there is a problem with it. This problem doesn't stem from me, nor does it stem from the source of the list. This problem stems from the media. We as a nation know who Daniel Akaka (D-HI) is, we know who Olympia Snowe (R-ME) is, or John Barrasso (R-WY) is and why is that?

Nevada Streaming Video Debate

Last evening, 11-21-2009, starting at about 4 in the afternoon, 6 Republican candidates for the Senate seat now held by Harry Reid 'debated' the issues. I really think there were really only a few moments of actual debate in the entire evening but there were things in the evening that made watching and participating worthwhile. Almost all candidates have signed or say they will sign, the no new taxes pledge, though being politicians, I am distrustful of anything they say.

A 'Rare' Saturday session

Well as we have all seen by now, the healthcare bill gets to go to the floor of the Senate for a full debate. The bill is over two thousand pages long and probably just a cut and paste of the House bill with additional confusing crap added. This bill was passed onto the floor in a reportedly 'rare' Saturday session…wait isn't that what the house did, 'a rare Saturday session'. Well why was a 'rare' Saturday session needed? Why was an 8 pm Saturday evening vote needed? Why couldn't it be brought to a vote on Monday during regular session? I know and I bet you do to if you think about it…

Why are we even worried about congress passing cap and trade?

Working my way through the maze of things that are costing our country its sovereignty I ran across this little tidbit http://www.reuters.com/article/latestCrisis/idUSN08291298 , and I thought all we had to do was to stop this crap in congress. I don't know if the EPA will act on cap and trade but if they do, according to this article it will generate a nice little boost in revenue for the government without the need to pass another law… Guess who pays that little revenue stream for the government…

Gay marriage straight marriage, who really gives a shit?

I've got some gay friends and I've got some straight friends and nether are better friends than the other and isn't that what really counts? Anyway we have this great debate going on in this country about whether or not the government should decide whether or not gay marriage should be sanctioned or a vote of the people should be the deciding factor…my take on the problem…

Why I haven’t been posting

I have a friend that is retiring (too bad it isn't me) and it has caused me to think about my plans for retirement. Well hell you really can't think about your plans without doing a little research. As you get closer and closer to retirement you need to make sure the amount of money you have put away will take care of you and your wife, or in my case me and my EX-wife, and still leave you enough to enjoy the remaining good years you have. Now I've got a few problems with retirement, not including the government, which I have to reconcile. First how do I get my retirement home paid off so some bank don't hold a piece of paper that allows them to tell me I have to leave. Second will I have enough money to pay any medical bills I may encounter? Third will I have enough money to eat (this one isn't cheap)? Fourth can I buy a boat that will be big enough to do the things I plan to do? Fifth, do I trade in my motorcycle on a new one http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US/Content/Pages/2010_Motorcycles/2010_motorcycles.html#/home/NB or just have the old one overhauled and painted? Sixth, will I be able to buy that airplane I'd love to buy?

Bittersweet 17 and 234

My daughter's birthday was yesterday (the 10th), the same day of the US Marines 'birth' (Nov. 10th, 1775), and I didn't know it until the 9th. Yes I knew it was my daughter's birthday, I just didn't know it was the Marine Corps birthday. Every day I learn something about this great nation that I didn't know the day before, it is so humbling that I can't even put it into words, but I will say if you desire to learn something about the sacrifice made by our military in the name of freedom, Veteran's Day is the day to look for it.

The Marines celebrated in their own way wherever they were. Some got stupid drunk, some marched in parades, some sat at home, some lay dying of old age, some stood a post for Marine 1 and some simply had a fleeting thought while taking the fight to our enemies…

I wasn't a Marine but I'll never forget their birthday again…Semper Fi

14,000 People A Day Lose their Health Care in the month of Obember

A quote from President Obama, used to rally people behind health care reform, so he can make universal health care his top priority. Yes this will stop people from losing health care but it will cost additional jobs. Employers will be slow to rehire people if you add the burden of taxes etc. to pay for universal health care.

An original thought…not

I've spent some time watching television today though admittedly not too much because of the Ft. Hood tragedy. While my heart goes out to the families of the victims and the families of the wounded soldiers there are other things happening here. I'm not a conspiracy theorist but wouldn't it be tragic if these shootings were an attempt to get our eyes off the balls being floated around in congress…Health Care, Cap and Trade, Global Warming (I know, Cap and Trade and Global Warming are sort of one and the same)…anyway the thought isn't the eye on the ball issue so lets move on.

Off to the races

Well we now have a 1990 page bill on the floor of the House of Representatives to create a law that basically says all Americans will have health care, not that all Americans will have the right to health care, not that we will help you get health care but that you WILL have health care or we will fine you…well how's that for a free country? This change thing working for you? If you don't wish to participate too damn bad, "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one". Do you know how I feel about that? Betcha don't…

Aaagggghhhh…more rambling…

I've been reading the Daily Kos all evening, I have a twitch in my right eye, I'm right handed, I kick with my right foot, I vote right wing (though not quite as far right as some might think) and I wipe from the right side (Oh, stop it, I'm talking about my mouth) but the fact remains that I'm conservative and I can get my fill of health care, cap and trade, give everyone everything they want mentality of liberals very quickly. I did discover a thing or two about the left though, maybe I should have know it all along, but the left really don't mind capitalism and a free market economy…

I hate ferrets…well more like they hate me.

I really like animals, almost all kinds. There are a few that I will take exception to simply because I don't know any of them on a personal level, then there are a few that I take exception to primarily because I do know a member of the species. While I would be the first to say I don't like stereotyping we need to talk context here. My daughter has two ferrets and when I go in her room they attack me. If I don't have shoes on then they bite my toes, if I do have shoes on they try to climb up the inside of my pant leg and bite my leg. If I pick one up it will bite my hand and god forbid I ever try to kiss one or one gets loose in my bathroom.

I also don't like snakes. I guess it could be argued that snakes are not animals, they are reptiles, however don't let the Houston SPCA hear you talking like that. Nope, I've never got bitten by a snake but one did bite one of my boots. That was close enough, they don't like me, I don't like them. The best part of that equation is that I don't have to hide in a corner waiting for one to go by before I bite him, I can go out and hunt them down and bite them (well not literally).

I do like cows but that may be primarily because they are dumb and I like almost anyone that I can feel smarter than (there are way too few of that kind walking around). It may also be because I like the things milk brings. I'm not too big on milk but I like ice cream, coffee creamer, cheese, etc. I also am quite partial to red meat, I know, here we go with the non political correctness crap, I'm sorry there isn't a good way to say 'you are so dumb that I'm going to kill you and eat you' in a nice politically correct way.

I'm really not sure I'd like bears, from what I've seen on Nat Geo (new name for National Geographic) I'm betting I wouldn't get along with them too well. I'm a little confused about the Nat Geo thing too…is that the same thing as 'id lik 2 c u 2nite'? Oh well we all have to learn new things and if the lawyers in Washington DC have their way I may have to get an attorney to battle my cow's attorney to get permission to have a steak.

I'm damn sure I don't like badgers; I had one try to climb my leg in the dark one night. I think he only left because he didn't like the smell I emitted when I saw him. People say animals can smell fear, I bet they can and I'd bet it smells like shit, cause that's what I smelled like when I ran upon that badger.

I like deer, I like pigs, I like chicken's, I like rabbits, I like fish (again with the animal thing?)…hey wait there is a theme developing here…if I can eat them I like them and if they can eat me I don't…ok I'm good with that. God didn't give me thumbs just to press the space bar.

New ideas on old themes

This blog posting comes from a response I got in an email from someone I really love. The divide here is I'm a conservative and he is a ??? I suspect he calls himself a 'progressive' or maybe a 'liberal' but I'm not really sure, however we have some fundamental disagreements on our government.

First he is in the President's camp on health care, and like all progressive/liberal's he thinks the government is the answer to the problem, single payer system, or at least government to run a piece of it to ensure competition. He is a firm believer in Global Warming and believes we should pass cap and trade. I don't know for sure on this point but I also don't believe he thinks that the illegal alien population is causing any problems in this country.

I am suspecting that given the chance to work in the Obama White House he would advocate for the fairness doctrine or something even more strict which would be a death knoll for free speech. He is a believer in gun rights, he believes everyone should have the right to have a single shot rifle, he says I taught him that if you couldn't kill what you were shooting at with one shot you didn't need to kill it anyway. He doesn't believe however that anyone needs a semi-auto of any kind, except the military. I'm confused here, he claims to be a history buff but in looking at history I see hundreds of millions of people murdered by tyrannical governments and he believes the government should take care of your every need.

The problem is here he wants conservatives to bring new ideas to the table instead of the same old tired don't tax me more, don't spend my money on social programs, you represent me not the other way around, etc… Well I guess we should come to the table with new ideas, but shouldn't the liberals/progressives do the same? New tax on carbon emissions, new tax on sodas, new tax on cigarettes, new tax on alcohol…and all of this for the common good. Look around it has been tried for hundreds of years and failed. So what now, we made the Republic work for 200 years we can make a Socialist government work too? Do we think our government officials are so un-corruptible that a socialist government would work better than the Republic did? I just don't get it, how can we make a country work when half of its population depends on the other half for subsistence?

I'm sorry son, I've failed you

Can’t even forward a joke anymore

I got this joke sent to me and I put it on my forward list and sent it out. I titled it 'Time for a little laugh on us' and a response I got back surprised me…first the joke:

  1. Cows
  2. The Constitution
  3. The Ten Commandments

COWS  Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that during the mad cow epidemic our government could track a single cow, born in Canada almost three years ago, right
to the stall where she slept in the state of Washington ?
And, they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give each of them a cow..
THE CONSTITUTION They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq .... Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it has worked for over 200 years, and we're not using it anymore.
THE 10 COMMANDMENTS The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse or Congress is this, you cannot post 'Thou Shalt Not Steal' 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery' and 'Thou Shall Not Lie' in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians .... it creates a hostile work environment.
Also, think about this ... if you don't want to
forward  this for fear of offending someone --YOU ARE PART OF THE  PROBLEM! It is time for America to speak up!

And now the response:

Speak up on what? There isn't any call to action or anything constructive here at all. Looking at it from a strictly psychological word count every phrase has a negative emotional count, as well as no beneficial action.
It would be nice if the conservative movement could come with something additive rather than subtractive to the national discussion. Then supporting a discussion would actually be helpful, even beneficial; then bipartisanship would actually have useful purpose, seeking common ground on new ideas.

So now my question, should I have been more sensitive to the potential of the wording of the joke? I will admit to not cutting off the offending phrase "Also think about this…" but I really was just looking at the joke and not the forward crap which I tend to ignore.

Anyway I got bit on this one.

Today is my day for Illegal Immigration

I have been watching stories on illegal immigration for years now. I have always been a strong proponent of legal (limited) immigration and also a strong proponent of immigration enforcement. I support:
  • The ICE raids on companies suspected of employing illegal's
  • E-verify (not only on employment but social benefits as well)
  • Hefty fines on companies that hire illegal aliens
  • Border enforcement (all borders N, S, E,W)
  • Visa enforcement (overstaying visa's not permitted)
  • Limiting work visa's

An idea for health care…

1990 pages of something that we can never read and understand within 72 hours, even if they post the bill online for 72 hours before voting on it.

Responses from my Representatives…wow!

I sent an email to Representative Titus telling her what I think about her stand on health care and cap and trade, below you will find what she sent back…well the bullet points of what she is 'trying' to do anyway. Classic political doublespeak, read it for yourself and see if it addresses her position on health care or cap and trade. After that you will find the response I sent back to her…life is good when you don't have to worry about your elected officials changing…

Shirt stains ... or You can't fix stupid

As anyone who might have wasted their time reading the drivel I write here will know, I made an attempt, as half hearted as it was, to cut the tip of my thumb off (See entry "A little thumb in your salad?"). I wasn't completely successful until two days later when the skin became so sore I decided to, with as much precision as I could muster, take the flap of skin off. Well that worked well for me, I took my super sharp pocket knife, the one I should have been shaving with when I tried to cut the tip of my nose off, and started working on the small patch of skin that held the flap on. Well I couldn't do it on a single rum and Pepsi, the damned thing hurt, so I waited until I'd had two and was working on my third. Ok so intelligence isn't something my family was cursed with. Anyway to open a pocket knife that, as I mentioned above, is super sharp, to cut off a flap of skin from my already sore thumb was ...wait for it...it rimes with thumb...

Anyway, needless to say its been over a week and the stupid thing still bleeds every time I try to button my shirt, zip up my coat, put on my gloves, etc. At least it doesn't hurt any more (well unless I jam it into something that doesn't move, which I'm finding I do with some regularity) and the bleeding is just little traces, that are actually big enough to be seen on my work shirts and be asked "Oh my god, do you know you are bleeding?".

I have been tempted to just call in sick and put it in traction for a week and let it heal but then my kids would laugh at me for being a wimp...

Global Warming is going to Kill us…or is it?

Henrik Svensmark, Professor, Technical University of Denmark, Copenhagen

"In fact global warming has stopped and a cooling is beginning. No climate model has predicted a cooling of the Earth – quite the contrary. And this means that the projections of future climate are unreliable," writes Henrik Svensmark.

More on Health Care

I recently wrote the following to both Representative Titus and Senator Reid:
///////////////////////////////////////
I am writing once again because you and other members of congress have decided you know what is best for all Americans in reference to Health Care and the cost of providing it. You do not speak for me, nor do you speak for the majority of Americans (according to the polls). I am asking that you stop this reckless path you are on and make sure the reform to health care we pass is actually doable.

This Health Care bill will expand an already bloated Federal Government and cannot possibly cover the people you are intending to cover. Our deficit will increase without the possibility of paying it off and our country's AAA rating in the world monetary markets will fall.

The process you have embarked on will turn our country into a two bit player in the world (if we can even retain that much clout). I will continue to fight this health care bill as I will continue to fight the Cap and Trade (tax) bill. You and your colleagues in congress are taking my children's future and it doesn't belong to you to take.

Net Neutrality ???

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=h111-3458
Click on the link and read the bill…I'm no lawyer but I'll bet lawyers wrote this and will welcome the change it may have in the internet here in the US. I'm against this bill and think anyone that reads it should also be…maybe even contact your representative and let them know how you feel about it too. And if you are confused like I was, read the part in the very front about amending the Communications Act of 1934 and then just skip to the last paragraph, read that and then think who will be writing the regulations… ladies and gentlemen, our internet will be changing soon if this passes.

Words I Use

I'm finding that the words I use are going to ultimately define this blog site.  As I write a post I jump in at the end and list all (or most) of the words that are relivent to the post.  As the posts grow I am beginning to see patterns in the words like president, government, tax, are taking the lead, while words like global, warming are coming in second.  I'm sure illegal, immigration, reform, will start to bubble up on the surface like hot chocolate on a stove...stay tuned.

By the way, I didn't add the words I am talking about in this posting to push the numbers up...;-)

Another one on Human Caused Global Warming…Climate Change

I get a huge charge (not a happy charge) out of the change from Global Warming to Climate Change. When the temperatures didn't hold up to the predictions the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) decided that in order to continue promoting taxation to 'share the wealth' they would have to change the lie from Global Warming to Climate Change. I'm reading an e-book that I downloaded for free from Climate Depot. I don't know the science of this problem or even if it is a problem but I do know politicians and look at some of the quotes from the book…

The Administration to ORDER Pay Cuts

The Obama Administration has now decided to order the companies that received TARP money to cut the pay of their top 25 positions by 90%. I know this sounds good to everyone that knows they got TARP money and hell these guys are making millions in bonuses, so why not. Well here is the why not…

No time to protect American Jobs

I worry that America isn't the America I've loved all my life. We now have special interest groups that still promote hiring foreign workers over Americans in this country when we have nine plus million Americans out of work. We have government department heads that want to pull Border Patrol off of the southern border and move them to the Canadian border. I know that the Canadian border is probably more open than the Mexican border but the problem right now is on the southern border. We have a new regulatory czar that says animals should have the right to bring suit in court, damned if I know how you could know what an animal wants…wait it's not about animal rights, it's about another avenue of revenue for trial lawyers and another way to clog the courts with frivolous law suits.

Treaty in Copenhagen

When our President signs a treaty, that treaty circumvents our constitution and our laws. The President has said he would sign the Kyoto Protocol in December. I will be pouring over it for the next few days to see how much control the UN can gain over our sovereignty by the President signing the treaty.

Even the news takes the weekend off…

Trying to catch up on news I turned on Fox…go figure, I watch Fox…and they were airing a two day old Hannity. Have to go over to CNN to see if they have anything new.

Rum and Pepsi

Well my thumb is healing (well it least it doesn’t hurt quite so bad) and it’s Saturday. Sitting back enjoying a Rum and Pepsi that the government is looking at for more tax revenue because I’ve made bad lifestyle choices. I drink Rum and Pepsi almost exclusively because I can’t drink beer.

A little thumb in your salad?

I sat yesterday morning and put a safety email together for work. In this safety email I talked about safety of everyday tools, I did this mostly because I cut the tip of my nose with my razor the day before, and thought it might be a good idea to show how complacent we get when we use tools that we are used to using. I included knives, scissors, pliers, screw drivers and razors in the commentary and a few of the people that read the email knew the inside joke with the razor. Now I find that just one day after the safety email I have to own up to complacency with another of the tools mentioned…knives.

The Best Chance for a Victory in 2010

In the mid-term elections the conservative people in this country have a chance to advance more change. Not the type of change President Obama has offered and ‘hoped’ to force down our throats but the type that this country was founded on.

Shaving my nose off to spite my face

I decided today that with all that’s going on in this country I might as well cut my throat. I don’t see how I’ll ever be able to retire once the economy has hit the crapper.

Fat? Want insentive to lose weight? Move to NC

I've been reading allot tonight and the most interesting topic I've come up with to write about is the N.C. proposal to tax fat people (penalize people that are too fat or smoke). I don’t yet know who plans to make the judgment as to who is too fat or where they plan to put the hidden cameras to catch me smoking but this, in my humble opinion, is wrong. Now I’ve found another blog site that has some of the same opinions as I have on the topic.

Obama Mortgage

Yes folks, this is a real program

Kevin Jennings. Safe Schools?

I'm going to weigh in on this. Kevin Jennings, an admittedly gay and a gay rights activist, appointed by the president to be the Safe School and Drug Free czar, says that if you haven't been trained in gay rights you are too big of a danger to our young children to be a teacher. He wrote the forward to the book Queering Elementary Education. Is he who we want to bring safety and a drug free program to our schools? Hell yes,

Welcome

I've watched news of our President being awarded the Nobel Peace prize and wondered why? I really haven't seen anything he has REALLY done to advance world peace. I guess though if we emasculate our armed forces to the point of not being able to defend ourselves or our allies one could see that as promoting world peace...

I've watched a new documentary called Not Evil Just Wrong and think it wasn't strong enough...this video claims that approximately 30 million young kids in developing countries died as a direct result of the ban on DDT. It isn't about DDT or saying to start using it but it is showing the links between bad or questionable science and the cost to human life. It is worth the watch if you can find someone like me that has a copy.

These are the news items of the day as an example of the things I'd like to hear your thoughts on. I have created this blog, with the gracious help of Google, for that purpose. I will retain the right to delete posts and ban anyone from posting on here if they threaten any of the posters. I hope anyone that posts anything here is doing it to learn new ideas or share old ones.
